About Us

When you read about me you will find out that I’ve had a lifelong interest in nutrition but I came to holistic health and coaching after years of struggling with a myriad of medical problems. My own issues became overwhelming both physically and emotionally and I was unable to solve them with conventional means. I was desperate for relief. Over time I discovered, through research and experimenting with my own body, that most of my health problems were directly linked to poor nutritional and lifestyle choices. By incorporating relatively simple changes to my diet and holistic modalities I’ve been able to heal myself, increase my energy and vitality and lose weight without any restrictive dieting practices or extreme exercise.

As a business manager and through coaching other busy professionals I’ve also discovered how to work with the unique challenges of a hectic working lifestyle. If you’re a business person who puts all of yourself into your work and finds yourself unhealthy, exhausted and out of balance, I can help.

Other specialties of mine include; weight loss, digestive ailments (such as IBS and reflux) and inflammatory based illnesses (such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease and diabetes).

My nutrition education is complemented by a broad knowledge of other things that nourish us as human beings; relationships, spirituality, careers, exercise and happiness … the list goes on.

I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach, CHHC, and a member of the AADP (American Association of Drugless Practitioners). I received my training in holistic health and coaching through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the only nutrition school that integrates all the different dietary theories-combining the knowledge of traditional eastern philosophies such as Ayurveda and Yin/Yang with modern western concepts like glycemic index, raw foods and the Zone. I coach both groups and individuals and teach seminars on a variety of nutrition and health & wellness subjects.

Within the realm of exercise, I have a certification in personal training from Dr. Anthony Abbott, a distinguished leader and expert in the field of fitness and exercise physiology in South Florida. I also trained with Peggy Cappy, a widely renowned yoga teacher, frequently seen on PBS, who specializes in teaching a modified form of yoga to people with injuries or disabilities of any kind and at any age.

Additionally, I’m certified with Natalia Rose, well-respected author, clinical nutritionist and leader in the field of detoxification. This is a subject matter I’m most passionate about! I completed an intensive advance training with her that was truly life changing and can’t wait to share this method with my clients.

*I also became certified in the Woods Method of colon hydrotherapy…a gentle method of administering colonics using a closed gravity system (as opposed to a pressurized system which forces water into the colon) to strengthen the body’s own peristalsis and ability to eliminate toxic waste. I’m in the process now of setting up the colonics side of my practice. More on that soon!


Guiding Principles

While the human body essentially works the same for all of us, we each have a unique physiology, like hand and foot prints and strands of DNA. This concept is an underlying principle of my belief-system and the way I work toward helping my clients achieve better health, holistically.

I don’t believe in dieting because it just doesn’t work! The healthiest foods and best choices are the ones that digest easily, are effectively assimilated by the body and then quickly eliminated.

It’s not about counting calories, carbs or fat, it’s about staying within the natural order of things. Like fruit and vegetables grown locally & organically and proteins from animals, if you are so inclined, raised humanely and fed responsibly.

I don’t necessarily endorse a certain style when it comes to YOUR nutritional path; I happily and respectfully support vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. It is about making the most superior choices for you. I will teach you and guide you how to do this for yourself.

A Unique Approach

With a holistic approach I work differently than most conventional practitioners. In my practice I consider the many aspects of a person’s life, their distinctive physical and emotional states,  lifestyle preferences and, of course, their goals and aspirations. This is a process customized especially for you as one size does not fit all.

I offer individualized programs that are sensitive to your particular (and often peculiar, let’s face it) needs. These programs are designed to be indulgent, pleasurable and nutritious…otherwise who would want to stick with anything new?

Clients come to me for many reasons, especially for weight loss and what they find along their journey is so much more than they asked for. Who knew that you could experience so many benefits? Improved digestion, mental clarity, increased energy and a sense of well-being to name a few!
